About the Character:

Robert Sartorius, Professor andprincipal leader and theorist for the Campaign for a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly, a globalized UN version of the European Parliament, divorced father of Jack Sartorius who overcomes a life crisis of faith and attempted suicide to marry Eva Strong and push the Parliamentary Assembly campaign towards a successful conclusion, though Moses-like dying before its final implementation.  His travels in Book One echo those of the legendary Odysseus of the Odyssey, include a voyage from China to London, the sea adventures of the Neptune’s Fury chapter, and the famous katabasis, or descent into Hell in the Volcano’s Underworld and the surreal dream adventures of the Teatro Magico chapters in Mexico City; He, Eva and his questing heroes in the attempt to establish a world parliament are taken hostage by terrorists in Jerusalem and held in an underground cave in Iran meeting the Supreme Leader before escaping to Middle Earth in the hollow center of the world a la Jules Verne; His later cosmic questing and travels in Book Two: Spiritus Mundi The Romance, include a voyage to the Great Central Sea at the center of the earth and discovery of the Magister Ludi, master of the Crystal Bead Game on which the survival of the human race depends, an encounter with the mythical Mothers on the Island of Omphalos, and his transiting of a Cosmic Wormhole to address the Council of the Immortals at the Black Hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy to plead for the rescue of the human race from extinction, echoing the journey of Dante in the Divine Comedy, the Koranic Isra and Mi’ra of the Kitab al-Miraj and Goethe’s Faust.

In his quest to establish a global United Nations Parliamentary Assembly based on the European Parliament model he discovers that the effort is being thwarted by a Time Travelling Terrorist Nemesis, escaped 23rd Century War Criminal and would-be World Dictator Caeserion Khannis, alias  Mustafa bin Salman al Khalifa, come from the 23rd Century a la Terminator to foster a World War Three that will forestall the creation of a UN Parliamentary Assembly, and thus abort a future of democratic world order and two centuries benign global governance. But he in turn is thwarted by the  Magister Ludi, himself a pursuing Time Traveller from the 23rd Century a la Terminator, come to assist Sartorius and the forces of civilization in our Present in the making of a benign history and world order, and to thwart its unmaking by Khannis, finally  returning Mustafa/Caeserion Khannis to the International Criminal Court of the 23rd Century.
